PART-TIME ADMINISTRATOR
(Freelancer/Self-Employed)
Who We Are
The Music Room Coventry specialises in one-to-one and small group music lessons, offering a wide range of instrument classes. Our core values focus on building confidence and creativity in our students, while also providing rewarding and sustainable teaching careers for musicians. We are committed to delivering the highest quality music tuition across Coventry.
As our school continues to grow, we are looking to recruit a self-employed administrator to support communications and data management.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated, and friendly, with a proactive approach to keeping things running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing client communication (emails, phone, enquiries, follow-ups)

Organising bookings and schedules for lessons

Handling invoicing and basic financial administration

Helping organise and attend school events such as concerts or conventions

Communicating with our teachers regarding their schedules

Providing regular updates and reports to the school director
We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience in administration or customer service
-
Strong attention to detail and time management
-
Confidence using email, scheduling tools, and basic financial systems
-
A reliable and self-motivated approach to work
Hours and Pay:
-
Hours: 8 hours per week, flexible schedule (ideally spread over 3-4 days within a week, Monday to Friday)

Pay: £14.00 – £15.50 per hour (subject to experience)

Self-employed, remote, with occasional in-person check-ins (on-site office also available)

Additional paid hours available during busy seasons (e.g. concert preparation)
Nice to have:

Basic or enhanced DBS certificate

Knowledge and understanding of music
-
Previous work experience in education or supporting children and young people
The closing date for this application is Wednesday, 13th May 2026. Interviews will be held 1 to 2 weeks after the closing date (interviews may still be conducted before the closing date).
